I'll never understand you east of the Rockies states. 95 counties in an area smaller than some of 1 county out west.

Speaking as one who lives in AZ in a county that is bigger then 3 states, 8 if you don't count water, I have to say I agree. What the hell is up with so many friggin counties??? I can't imagine how much money it cost's to run 100+ county administrations in Virginia.
On the plus side from what I see going on in Virginia counties being small seems to make them more accountable to the people living in them. Perhaps there is a happy medium?? No matter though to each their own.
And we'll never understand how you Manifest Destiny people still haven't shoved CA off the continent.
Kidding aside, a lot of the counties and shit are from colonial times in one form or another, that's all it essentially boils down to. You can still see the British's borderline erotic fetish for bureaucracy and regulation where folks had to split dick hairs until individuals and communities had little they could call their own in such a contested geographical area.
Here's the updated map, not a huge difference but we're chipping away at the holdouts.

Much easier to drop their power. The results will compound rather quickly,...Oh and by the way, I hope those who voted "nay" in these two counties do realize that the food in their grocery stores comes from somewhere via roads. If they want to get froggy, shit can turn very interesting for them.
This is big update... I'm surprised to see Suffolk county go 2A Sanctuary yesterday. Given the demographics and political leanings, it is a PURPLE county (and fairly big). There are 3 Democratic Lawmakers from that county - in the Senate, Ms Louise Lucas and in the House, Mr Clinton Jenkins and Mr Cliff Hayes Jr.And we'll never understand how you Manifest Destiny people still haven't shoved CA off the continent.

Now with this map, we are well over 40 Democratic lawmakers whose Counties are supporting the Constitution as 2A Sanctuaries.
I wonder if we could organize some email/letter campaign against the more exposed ones on this list? Certainly they must be sweating their political futures.
My understanding was 2A sanctuaries are stating no more infringements. And, again, isn't the governor claiming 2A support and constitutionality? I was told by a person at the Suffolk meeting the counsel basically said good luck in Richmond and you are on your own.Suffolk is a constitutional sanctuary city, it's basically the same thing just not as acute as the 2A sanctuary counties. In any county these resolutions are only as good as the conviction with which they are reinforced. If you're expecting your local politicians to do the heavy political lifting and protect you because you live in a sanctuary area, that's a really shitty plan imo. Once the heat's on we'll see who has a patriotic spine and who is just common slime bending for votes.

So far this has not cost anyone much. What remains to be seen, is if they actually pass these bills. If people are not stocking up on supplies, they are not very serious. Each side is waiting for the other to fold, just like always. At some point one side will grow some teeth. Who knows which one it will be.
I don't think people are willing to point to barrel of their guns at each other yet. If politicians were fearful they would not be continually doing this in the first place. Instead of direct violence, the govt will freeze your accounts, take your land, your drivers license, tax you, fine you, take your children away etc.
