Latest year for AI ATs?

Just bought a new AI AT off Mile High, and received a 2018 production. Rifle looks awesome, I was just a little surprised when I looked at the serial.

Have there been any updates or changes since 2018? Paid the "new" price, just making sure I got the latest and greatest.

Thanks guys and please excuse my ignorance.

I picked up a new AT from EuroOptic a few months back. It was a 2018 as well. Stock is stock, sometimes it's very recent, sometimes it's been hanging around for some time. I had gotten an AXMC from them as well and it was like 2016 I believe. I'd have to check the year.

OP- as long as it has the small firing pin, you've got the latest and greatest.

I know you just got it, and I know it isn't cheap, but the AT retrofitted with the AX buttstock is pretty much the ultimate (short action) AI, IMO.

Thank you all so much the replies.

Mile High has a great rep and I had a very pleasant experience purchasing from them. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything with a 2018. (y)

As far as the AX stock, I'm very much tempted, but the wallet needs a few months to recover. I found some thumbhole stocks, so those will have to hold me over for now.

Just because the AX stock is more expensive, does not necessarily mean it is an upgrade. I think you should give the AT stock a fair try. I like my AT stock better than the AX AICS stock on my Vudoo.

I've just finished mounting my optic and have done a bit of dry firing. I have no complaints with the AT stock, and feel very comfortable with the check rest shifted way to the side. Hopefully will be able to hit the range soon.

From the little I know: you can get lower on the rifle with an AT stock than you can with the AX stock. Primary advantage I see with the AX is you can change LOP on the fly. Also, having the stock close to the right and around the bolt just looks cleaner. Not sure if it will snap into the folded position like the AT stock.

That is correct, re: getting low on the gun, but it isn't by much if you're running an optic with a 56mm objective. When I had the AT stock on mine, the cheek rest was raised by maybe 1/4-3/8 of an inch, the rifle was equipped with the "low" rail, and my optic (Razor 4.5-27x56) was mounted in the lowest rings I could get to work (ARC mediums, maybe? I can't remember). After going to the AX butt stock, I found that with the cheek rest all the way down, I was just a bit too high to get lined up properly on the scope. Swapping to the factory AT scope rail did the trick. Same scope, same rings, etc...

I do dig the fact that it folds over/captures the bolt handle, and it should be noted that it does click in place when folded, so it isn't just flopping around. The on-the-fly adjustability of it is convenient for "idealizing" the LOP based on shooting position or the amount of clothing you're wearing.
