Anyone have any experience with these pistols? Seems interesting.

I believe that high price is for a limited run packege with all sorts of extras.

Still, even just a pistol and a couple of magazines from Laugo is not going to be cheap. I believe there will be competitive shooters who will buy it for the reduced muzzle flip.

The ones who suck because they think points can be bought will still suck

I like the idea. Moving design forward is progress, without it, we'd all be shooting wheel guns still... People thought the 1911 was a waste, then people said the same thing about the Glock... I'm not saying this is the next step change, but mostly because I haven't seen one broken down to understand the design yet, so I'll reserve judgement of it until I do.

Lower bore axis is an inherent positive. If it ever gets price competitive with the big boys, or if the design is elegantly simplistic like all good things are, someone else will adopt it in short order and make it available to the masses. Who knows, maybe Glock, Sig, HK, or one of the likes, adopt/license the design and use it as their next gen design. It hipster enough, and close enough geographically, for CZ to pick it up! Haha

Hi,

Off Topic but in regards to muzzle flip....

I am pretty sure the original designer (Now the Co-Founder of Blackwater Ammunition) of the Strike One pistol still has the high dollar reward for any pistol manufacturer that can beat this photo pertaining to proximity of the spent cases and firearm fully closed for another.

Sincerely,
Theis

I figured I would reply even though this thread is 8 month old. I have had my Alien for a week or so now and can answer some questions if somebody is thinking about ordering one. I have run about 800 rounds through it so far with zero issues. I can give you some takeaways that are just my personal experiences.

1. Recoil: It recoils more that I remember from shot but the recoil is in a straight line back it seems, so with proper form it is quite manageable.
2. I am not a competitive shooter, I shoot a lot of rounds but just for fun. I do set up some stages and run them with friends or by myself and have definitely noticed a reduction in follow up shots, especially on say a dueling tree.
3. For me the grip angle is quite different from anything else I own, I really had to work at getting the muzzle down at first, I also had to tilt the gun forward in the holster from where I usually do in order to get the grip in a good position for my grip.
4. The mags rattle, doesn't seem to effect performance as I have had zero malfunctions but it is annoying to me. It does drop free perfectly on reloads.
5. Also regarding the mag, if I put 17 rounds in it and put the mag in with the slide closed, it is extremely to run the slide back to pick up that first round. Once it is back and I let it go forward it picks up the round no problem, If I have the slide open place the mag in , run the slide then top off the mag the gun will pick up that first round just fine. Although I do seem to feel a slight difference in recoil.

Those are just my initial takeaways. I have timed several strings and while I am about the same with the Laugo as with other pistols timewise, I am seeing that my first shot with the Laugo is .3 or so slower right now, so after some practice maybe I will be quicker who knows.

Again, just my observations. Not to sure it is worth the 5200 I paid (i got 2 extra mags) but I like it. If I was strapped for cash I would probably pass, and if I could only have one semi auto 9mm I don't think this would be it. I reserve the right to change my mind on that though. LOL

Again, all this is just my thoughts, not trying to convince anybody or tell anybody what to buy.
