LAWTON ACTIONS

I had them send me a 40 MOA base and had my smith figure out the angle. Now my NF NP-R1 100 yard zero is the top line of the retcile with the elevation knob 3 clicks off the bottom. The center is 560 yards for my load. Now I get to use all 64 MOA left in the turret and all 30 MOA of the retcile. I can shoot out over 1000 yards w/o touching the turret if I wanted to. That sounds like a good idea to me but some can't wrap their heads around it.

The good news is that Lawton sent the new base when they ran their next 40 MOA batch.

Re: LAWTON ACTIONS

I have been dealing with Lawton since before Barney passed, as well as a bunch of other manufacturers in the gun industry. Lawton is as reliable and responsible as any of the others out there.

I touched off a round in my 7mm/338LM that was loaded with the WRONG powder. The barrel in front of the recoil lug swole .003, the recoil lug is still press fit on the barrel. The only dameage to the action was the recoil lug pin and the extractor. The damage was caused when we twisted the barrel off not from the over pressure load. If I recall quickload estimated the pressure from the load at 189000 PSI. I sent the action back to Lawton to have it checked out. They sent me a new action. You cannot beat that for customer service.

I own a dozen or more custom rifles....probably more like 20 but I do not feel like walking out to count them. I use Lawton stuff because it works. It is a good product at a good price. Plus I know I can call Bobby if I have a problem and he will make it right. I am thinking anyone having problems with Lawton Machine has not had much experiance dealing in the firearms world, because stuff happens.

If I were going to get on here and complain about every little thing that has gone wrong through all of my builds there would be threads bashing just about every other company out there. One thing about the gun industry, they make stuff right.

Heck right now I am waiting on a part from another company that I ordered more than a year ago, have received numerous promises and the wrong part numerous times. Yea it is a pain in the rear, but I think I will man up and deal with the situation myself rather than being a keybord hero.

I did get on here whining once when some jerk sold me a twisted short action that had been through a house fire. Apparently he had done similar stuff before as he got banned.

Shouldnt you be over there shoveling their snow?

You all are pretty quick to jump on the band wagon when someone goes another way on the majority opinion. He made ONE mistake with me on 5 builds. thats pretty good track record in my book. Ive had a smith build me multiple builds and had to send a majority of them back a few times, I gave him chance after chance to make it right. Do I still deal with him? NO.

Aquilla Firearms?

Maybe you should spend some time studying up on the excise tax laws and the BATFE rules. You might find they contradict your statement. </div></div>

Ya im still trying to figure out what "skin you have in this game" really means.
You still didnt answer my question. How much "skin" do you have in the game?!

Re: LAWTON ACTIONS

Enough - no need for dick measuring regarding how much I have been taken for - unfortunately others are coming out way ahead of me in that comparison, relatively speaking.

More details to follow - people busy working during day hours right now.
