Just stumbled upon this and it's a really great movie. If you like "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" you will love this. Daniel Craig before Bond and Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) as a seriously bad dude.

Even has a good snipery scene and a recycled quote from The Outlaw Josie Wales.

Outstanding movie... that I never even heard-of before this evening... playing on one of the movie channels this weekend (free Starz or encore or HBO or something weekend).

I would also reccomend Rock n Rolla as a similar styled movie, meaning a british crime movie with a slick feeling plot and dialogue. Snatch is an awesome one too.

This was an excellent film. I saw it a few years ago and along with a few other small films, really impresses me with Daniel Craig as an actor.

Agreed, it's a great movie. I think Craig is pretty underrated as an actor though his Bond role overshadows him

Layer Cake is one of those little gems you occasionally stumble upon. I was introduced to it several years ago by some Brit friends of mine. I have to hand it to the Brit's, they write some great dialog and know how to weave an intricate and compelling story. There are a bunch of Brit movies out there that didn't quite make it across the pond. Here are a few to have a look at:

Sexy Beast.
Sir Ben Kingsley tuns in one of the finest performances I have ever seen.

The Football Factory
A fictional look at hooligans and the subculture surrounding them.

Harry Brown
(I like Michael Cain) Interesting movie about crime and the dark underbelly of London's Social Project housing.

Animal Kingdom
Australian (not Brit) but worth seeing.

I liked the scene where they are hauling ass to the club in an Audi wagon, and they play "She Sells Sanctuary" by the Cult.

An Audi wagon may sound ghey in the U.S., but in the U.K. it's pretty tight.
