Been making ammo for years on an old Lee Kit press. Looking for a little better consistency, or areas to upgrade my reloading room.

Will I notice a difference in upgrading from the Lee to the MEC Marksman?

Mainly loading 6BR for PRS and 243 for coyotes.

Just looking for input. Thanks!

Doubtful you'll notice much, if any improvement. Most, if not all, of my consistency improvement was do to process changes. I started (this time around) with a Hornady single stage with l-n-l bushings and switched to a Marksman. Really like the MEC. Hornady is just used to deprime now.

How consistent are your reloads now? Do you have recorded data like comparator headspace measurements?

While getting a real, measurable performance increase might be difficult... You can still improve in areas like feel, or ease of operation, etc... the MEC may offer better leverage and you might find it easier to operate.

If you search press and accuracy I doubt that you will see much conclusive evidence that one press is superior to another until maybe you get to large cartridges like the 50BMG or some of the larger sniper cartridges like the 338 Lapua Magnum. It certainly doesn't show up much in forums as a primary contributor.

MEC is a fine rig for the money . It may not make a difference on target but it is a smooth rig with open front and plenty of muscle for sizing with ease .. I use one of those Lees for decapping, I would call the MEC an upgrade for sure .
