Looking to move from a left handed bolt action 7mm Rem Mag to a 308/7.62 AR type weapon. Any suggestions as to which mfg rifles consistently eject their brass in a left handed shooting friendly manner, say eject either strait out the side or even forward a little. I am particularly interested in the higher end precision mfg.

rock river lar 8 has an ambi bolt release, and if you watch a youtube video for it you will see several lefty shooters behind it. they take inch and metric fal mags and i have seen them produce sub moa.
only fallback is that parts are proprietary from rock river.

I've been a lefty a long time (an AWFUL long time) and I have no problems with my LMT MWS. It has a left hand mag release and safety and I put a Bravo Company extended charging handle on it to get out from under the scope. The deflector lump (with a little velcro) takes care of the brass, never an issue. The sucker is a chunk to carry around though.

Try a STAG arms upper, they make a left ejecting upper. Meaning the bolt carrier group (forward assist cuts) is different as well as the ejection port. DPMS make a left ejecting slick side upper with no port cover, and that only requires a differant bolt, not whole carrier.

The velcro softens the impact of the brass on the deflector and reduces the denting of the brass

Stag doesn't make uppers for anything larger than a 223/6.8, you can't make a lefty ar-10 style rifle. If you want a rifle that is left hand friendly, you either build a left ar-15 with a stag upper or deal with a right handed ar-10.

I am a lefty and my DPMS SASS shoots fine. brass goes almost straight out. never been hit by brass

I am a lefty, and I agree with this 100% I find alot of advantage to shooting a RH boltgun from most positions (offhand is an exception). As for a gasser, mine is an OBR. Never had a problem with it.

What I meant by left hand friendly was not a lefty rifle but a standard right hand rifle that ejects brass straight out or preferably (spelling) slightly forward.
Although my bolt action is a lefty... I would think selling a lefty rifle would be more of a pain. I guess I will find out soon enough.

If you just want to tweek ejection angles play with buffer weights. Adding or removing weight changes the speed of the carrier. An adjustable gas block would have the same effect. Also gas system lengths will change the toss. Just had this exampled on another forum where the guy went from a carbine length to a mid length and changed his angle.
The faster the carrier the further back it gets before the brass leaves, typically bouncing it off the deflector and away from you. Heavier buffers tend to make it toss more towards the 4-5 o-clock missing the deflector.
Also of note, my smith M&P 15 tosses brass 2-3 o-clock without damaging it.

I just bought a Sundevil 308 reciever set and it is a slickside (No forward assist and no Brass Deflector) I plan on doing a Rifle length Gas system to keep gas under control as form what I read overgassed tends to throw brass toward shooter. Most guys are sending brass to 2,3,4 Oclock which would be ideal. I do plan on using a JP adjustable gas block as well.
My question is, I have really once seen 1 brass deflector (https://www.fulton-armory.com/casedeflectorforflattopupper.aspx) for a flatop but it looks like it will make scope mounting options difficult or force me to only use rings instead of a mount.
Reciever set was a good deal, this is my only concern with build at this point. I am rt handed and left eye dominant, and shoot all rt handed AR15s with no issues but they all have fw assist and deflectors.

The real answer: As long as the rifle has a standard shell deflector bump integrated into the upper receiver, you are not going to be hit with brass. I am a lefty and own and regularly shoot 10 different right handed ARs. I have never been hit by brass from any of them.

I'm a lefty and have shot AR-15 and M-16 Rifles for 17 years. I have never had a problem with shells ejecting and hitting my eyes. Falling down my blouse yes! I think it gets overblown many times.
I'm a lefty and I own an LMT MWS. Love it. No problems with ejecting brass at all. Crazy freakin' accurate too!
That is great but all of these rifles have a shell deflector....the one I am building is slab side....no fwd assist no deflector nothing.
I am also left hand and have a couple of left hand guns. I have a couple of LH Stag AR's and I like them alot. In competition LH ar's are not allowed [ not issued ] so we have to shoot rh guns. One way to stop the brass to stop comming back is to cut the ejector spring down so the ejector is flush with thev edge of the bolt rim. I was told this by a builder and done this to most of my AR's and it puddles the brass just forward of the gun. This does not cause any problem with the action of the gun.
Ambidextrous controls make any AR a great platform for left handed shooters. I used an Ambi Maten, Norgon Mag catch, Raptor charging handle and Ambidextrous selector. I have never been hit by brass.
Thats how I fixed my slab side receiver problem, I sold my sun-devil receiver set and bought an AMBI MATEN like I should have in first place.
