Green Party leader threatens to annex three US states.
Canada’s Green Party leader, Elizabeth May, took aim at President-elect Donald Trump, offering a wild “proposal” to annex California, Oregon, and Washington into Canada.
Her comments, dripping with arrogance, reveal an out-of-touch politician grasping for relevance while ignoring the stark realities of her own country’s struggles.
Trump posted on Truth Social last month expressing frustration with the United States “subsidizing Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year,” while pointing out that many Canadians might actually welcome the idea of statehood.
He argued it would save Canadians money on taxes and military expenses, framing the prospect as beneficial for both nations.
“No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year? Makes no sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!” Trump wrote.

EXCELLENT IDEA, GO FOR IT!

Take them...please. And if you order NOW, we'll throw in NY and IL for free. Wait, there more...pick up that phone NOW and you get Vermont for a small $1.99 fee but Bernie Sanders comes with it (non-negotiable). Cheap for twice the price, GI. lololol

She's like an uglier and dumber version of Elizabeth Warren, and is known in Canada as "The Screeching Pumpkin". The most seats her party has ever won is 3, all around Vancouver. It's usually just her... she's the green party. She's basically a seagull.

We'll take Alberta thank you very much

The paperwork's already been done...just need a few signatures.
This is probably a great time to go ahead with it as our P.M. (dipschit Trudeau) tendered his resignation yesterday. He was lower in the polls than that cow, Elizabeth May. Trump can just swoop in and redraw the map.
We have an election on the horizon now and the Liberal commies will get the boot, the Conservatives will win....and we'll get our guns and freedom back!

Wait a second guys as a FL native / resident currently stationed in Oregon I can vouch that Oregon is all conservative except for Portland and Eugene areas. Oregon is one of the most beautiful states I have ever been with excellent hunting fishing off-roading snow sports, hiking, etc…No way I would give up any of these states. Don’t you realize the west coast has public land where anyone can go find a spot in the woods and shoot a mile

Don’t hold your breath. No conservative government has ever restored anyone in Canada’s freedoms. The second point in the Bill of Rights tells you that you don’t have any rights if the government decides you don’t.

Take Oregon, Idaho and Washington for sure. That'll help with cutting California in half and keeping the despots and gangbangers in one side and let them declare independence.

Peak clown world, but I'm here for it lol

Agreed, I don't think any gov't has restored rights and freedoms without rebellion, and I think with the crap going on globally, perhaps we're due for some change.....if not, well....we'll have our guns back...maybe that will help.
Plus I heard Trump on the news today stating he figured we should just dissolve the border and take us over...so there's that.

One our nation's greatest resources, Paul Harrell, was from Oregon. And his brother has taken over the channel. And I like the guy. He is retired state police, back when being state police was something good.

Of course, Paul worked for the govt. He taught sharpshooting in the Army and the Marines.

Anyway, I miss Paul.

My step-daughter (by marriage) and her husband and daughter live in Eugene. She fell in love with the Pacific Northwest when she went (in the 90s and early 2000s) to Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. My wife had to give her up for adoption in 1973. The family that adopted her raised her as jewish (my wife is lutheran) in Princeton, N.J.

To quote the Grateful Dead, "What a long, strange trip it's been...."

None of this is going to happen but it’s an interesting academic discussion. I would gladly give up the craziness and GDP of those states in exchange for perpetual conservative Electoral College and House of Representatives majorities. The only real downside is the loss of West Coast Deepwater ports.

Sniperwannabee is correct, Oregon is a phenomenal place geographically….its just a lot of the people that suck. And a lot of those are imports from out of state. But we have tons of public land, the ocean, mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, clean water, high deserts, and on and on. We used to lead in areas like public access and protection of our resources, like Oz West and the “Oregon Beach Bill” allowing all of us to enjoy access to the beach. The bottle bill while Tom McCall was in office fought litter to keep our state beautiful. A state filled with loggers and fishermen who were also conservationists. And Gov. McCall tried to keep it that way with his famous quote, philosophy and slogan: “Come visit, don't stay!” In speaking about out of state tourists he said: "I urge them to come and come many, many times to enjoy the beauty of Oregon. But I also ask them, for heaven's sake, don't move here to live."

Unfortunately they came and stayed and ran for office and are ruining it like so many other places. Heck we haven’t had an Oregon born Governor since 1995. And now we are still among the lead in public access, if by that you mean access for the homeless to camp on public sidewalks and property then you’d be right….but I absolutely don’t want to be a Canadian!!!

Ronws: I don’t believe Roy Harrell was state police, but a Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputy I believe, and I know the state police used to be better but there’s still some good ones around…

Oh yea, and that blowhard Canadian lady can get bent, she’s just an attention seeking crazy person who has delusions of grandeur….super smug with herself and her “deal.”

Now “Greater Idaho” I can get behind!

I know you're being sarcastic, but if you've ever heard her speak... she's about two brain cells away from choking to death on her own tongue. She makes service animals look like Rhodes Scholars...

Washington state had Jay Inslee as governor for 12 years, he left office this year and was replaced with his #1 flunky, a guy named Turd Fergurson. I just happened to surf thru PBS all those years ago and caught part of the first debate between Inslee and his opponent.

Inslee was trying to speak. He could not string a coherent sentence together. I honest to God thought it was a show about teaching the mentally retarded to speak in public. To say he was a fucking idiot was a complete understatement. I've grown plants that are smarter than Inslee.

Democrats voted for him at about 99%. Yeah, he promised to raise taxes, destroy education, ban guns, steal property, provide drugs and guns to the homeless and ban gas cars, appliances and wood stoves to save the glaciers. Leftists rejoiced and to this day people in Seattle think he is Einstein or Newton.

They are all fucking idiots.........................................not as dumb as their worshippers/voters.

Would you prefer to do it waiting for something that could save you? All while having paid for it many times over without a choice to opt out?
If you look at life expediencies between the US and Canada, Canada is at #20 while the US is at #48.

If you look at expenditures, we spend the most and have a worse life expectancy. How is that better?

Why would you think it's free? Health care cost money. Do you think the current method of health insurance is better than what most developed countries do?

Originally from Canada, still have all my family there (lived here, moved back there, then came back - so twice in each country). Canada's health care system is ABYSMAL! I went through long periods of my life there without a family doctor, my mother didn't have one for ~10 years before she died. When you don't have a family doctor, you have to go to the ER for EVERYTHING and you wait forever because you get triaged with everyone else. Add to that the fact that the nurses are unionized and are spending as much time talking about their weekend clubbing as they are doing the triage. They don't care because they can't get fired. It's not just the insurance that is public, the hospitals themselves are. There is no incentive to provide good service, and no accountability. I've had to same surgery up there and here. Up there, I ended up going to the ER an hour after the surgery, bleeding all over the back of a taxi and the surgeon who did it never even came to see me. Lawyers aren't allowed to work on contingency and what you win will be so small it will all go to the lawyer, so I couldn't sue.

It's also a 3-6 month wait up there to see any kind of specialist, to get an MRI or a CAT scan. My brother-in-law had an issue with his back at the end of August. It was so bad he couldn't get out of bed. He finally got so see a back specialist at the beginning of December. It was pointless because whatever it was had already passed. The doctor just told him he was fine. He spent a week laid-up in bed and weeks after that in pain because without seeing someone, he couldn't get any kind of prescription for a painkiller.

The cost isn't even comparable. My ex and I made about the same gross salaries up there that we did here when we moved. What we had left over from our paychecks here after paying all of our bills was what we cleared up there after income tax alone (before any bills). You're losing half your paycheck in tax (which pays for that public insurance), then you get to pay 1.5-2x the price compared to here (houses even more) for everything you buy, and get to add a 13-19% sales tax on top of that it.

I'll take the health insurance here any day of the week over what's up there! I've lived in both counties twice! I could have multiple surgeries every year here, pay the insurance fees and the deductibles and still be WAY ahead financially compared to where I would be up there. This idea that Canada's healthcare system is great is a fantasy. If it ever was, that would have been back in the 70s or before, because it has never been as long as I can remember

And the entire county's population is less than the state of California. Imagine how bad it would be with over 300 million people. . .

Well, at least the give you the option to off yourself, there's that.
