I know someone who did. She had diabetes, it got bad and she was going to need multiple amputations. She was already living in constant pain. She was in her early 30s and was always thin. She had it since she was a child.

Btw, it isn't just an "option", they actively try to sell people on it. That's a new thing that's only happened since Trudeau has been in power.

I've lived here for over 65 yrs.... born and raised. I've worked outside my whole life on the tongs, and logging. Raised 3 kids and 6 grandkids.....noone in my family has ever had to wait for emergency aid or an elective procedure.
It is NOT free, it is hidden in our tax system, but it is affordable. There are waits, but they have developed in more recent years....probably more to do with 'newcomers' from out east and 'beyond', plus the socialist bleading heart mindset that overloads all of our social systems. It needs work....but it is more than affordable.
I am not bragging up ours and bashing yours. All of 'my people' are US citizens. Our ancestors settled during the 1600's, proudly fought in the Revolution and Civil War, and I fly a US flag beside the Maple Leaf in my yard for over 40 yrs, so I am NOT anti American, just adding some objectivity.

John, we and many others in the northern 1/2 of BC have no family doctor. Not even a walk-in clinic with any open appointments. Figure out that word salad eh? ERs are often closed here and in all the towns around due to staff shortages. Last time my wife got into a walking the “new Canadian” laughed at her and suggested cosmetic surgery. Your experience is very rare, maybe because you know your care providers personally.

I’m trying to be polite here, but after 35-ish years in the trades, I’m letting your BS off very lightly.

Anyone telling you no one in their family has ever had obscene experiences in the Canadian healthcare system is up to their eyeballs in BS! That's CNN/MSNBC level BS! Next he'll tell us that there isn't any inflation, the economy is awesome and that Biden is sharp as a tack.
