Re: Lejeune Marines and roomie 2, burglars 0

Castle doctrine is really putting a crimp on the scumbag lawsuit industry!

Even the lowest of low life swine have like minded co-swine eager to sue for the lost "Steelins" (as opposed to earnings
laugh.gif
)that will no longer derive from their beloved, deceased, savages.

And then there are all those poor, compassionate, John Edwards types, struggling to get by on mere millions per year...

Oh the humanity.

Don't know how I missed reading your post before I put mine up.

Few years back, I put this idea across to TSRA, VCDL and several other national, STATE civil rights groups that they concoct a certificate, ceremony, and a box of ammo for every citizen who lawfully shoots and kills another in the act of committing a crime of violence.

A "Citizen's Self Defense Medal" or certificate would go far in helping people mute the - often - inevitable "cognitive dissonance" between the idea of "thou shalt not kill" coupled with mass media hysteria, and the simple fact that they are alive now.

Shooting someone isn't easy. I did it when I was 18 to protect my mom from a home intruder/invasion. He didn't die, not that time, took him a few more attempts until someone else blew him away with a larger caliber gun. Took me a few months to "get over it," but I'd do it again. Resolutely, not happily.

Giving such a citizen's award would have the effect of "social norming" the stand your ground laws specifically, and the RKBA in general. It would reinforce the action as ACCEPTABLE over being beaten, raped, or otherwise assaulted. It would promote healing in the individual who would be PRAISED and SUPPORTED for taking right action, while the leftist media would, naturally, demean, dismiss, ostracize, isolate, and ridicule anyone who was high profile enough (look at George Zimmerman. We still don't know his ancestry/race. Not that it matters, but the media IMMEDIATELY told us he was WHITE, hispanic, to attract the race-baiters out of Chicago and NYC), and silly enough to "take matters in their own hands" and use deadly force to protect life.

It's what RKBA is all about.

Before you break into someones house or are going to break in someones house, you have already made up your mind to take the chance or risk of them being armed. You know the danger your going into, you break in, you get shot. Plain and simple !! Same should go if someone is stealing your car IMHO..

The guys in the first story where very unlucky thatthey ran acrossed marines and I'm glad the Marines are Okay

The Marine in the second story obviously forgot to add the "light Weight" Perk as he was out ran by the home owner.. LOL

I grew up not too far from J'ville. It's actually much better now than it used to be, say 30-40 yrs. ago.
