I have a KAC UNS LRLP (PVS-26). I friend of mine has a PVS-14 and he has an IR filter that will protect the internals Ttached to the lens. I'm really just looking for an ARD or something like that. Just curious if someone knows of a lens protector for tye 120mm lens. Thanks!!
Yes I believe that's what he called it. It was suppose to protect your NVD from IR lasers. I just want it to protect the lens. I have the factory cover but just wanted something else to protect the lens and also to keep glare off of it.
Come on!! No body knows a guys who used to work with a guy that was in a secret squirrel group who used to go somewhere and knows where to buy one?????
First off no one makes a LIF large enough to fit the objective of any clip on. Second the LIF is for higher wave length HIGH Yag powered targeting lasers. a LIF on a PVS 14 won't protect your device from small arms targeting lasers i.e PEQ 2s thru PEQ 16s. As for a shade, I am not aware of anything on the market that acts as a lens protector like a Tenebrex for a clip on. We make a custom "Moon Shade" Which is basically a big threaded tube for the CNVD LR. We did these because of the Desert Tactical rifles hanging the clip on's objective right over the bloody muzzle!
But for the 26 / 30... Alas I don't think anything out there exists. Sorry

LOL - if secret squirrel goes public with info, they wouldn't be secret anymore.
The thing to understand about the ARD technology is that it was borrowed and adapted from the lighting industry, which has been using lens grids and filters for decades to cut lens glare and focus light transmission -- and on projection lenses as large and larger than the BNS, UNS, MUNS, etc. Therein lies your secret squirrel clue for a solution to your challenge.
In re: LIF. There are many labs that produce bicarbonate and glass filters that effectively block IR radiation across numerous wavelength slices from NIR and MIR, and through LWIR at varying levels of intensity -- and can custom cut blanks to fit whatever frame or mounting system you may have. The only issue is, for example: an objective lens filter that effectively blocks incoming IR radiation from PEQ-14/15/16, GCP, IZLID, MPLI, etc. will also block your own ability to view the output from your PEQ-14/15/16, GCP, IZLID, MPLI, etc. through your NV scope.
IR-V is correct....So folks know, they're several systems and covers made for clip-ons, just not commercially available we use. Our WASP will also be available with such systems to qualified folks with the need for this.
