Re: Les Baer .308 Semi
There are always diminishing returns. Whether with cameras, cars, high end audio, computers, whatever. One hits a point where small improvements cost a lot of money. That's when you have to decide what its worth.
I shot my Monolith all day yesterday. Used 168g Federal Match, switched to Hornady Tap 168s, various ranges and targets. Regardless, the rifle was incredibly accurate and a real pleasure to shoot. Absolutely no problems with ammo, fabulous groups, light recoil, whatever. I understand other rifles shoot well and suit other needs. There is however a tendency to write off more expensive products, particularly in the AR world (bolt shooters seem more comfortable with high dollar guns). So far this rifle shoots as well as or better than the high end bolt guns I and others have been using. That's pretty cool. Whether its worth it to any one of us is a question that each of us has to answer. For me, the fit and finish, reliable function and incredible accuracy are worth it.
