There really isn't a timeframe. I've seen them on it the night it was killed, and sometimes it never gets touched. For any of you guys that hunt deer, do you use your gut pile as coyote bate? How long does it take for them to find it? about 48 hours? I'm thinking about going hunting tonight from the deer I shot yesterday.
It isn’t the most practical truck gun, but it works.

KRG Whiskey 3 with enclosed fore end. What chassis system is that?
6.5 Creedmoor throwing 140 eldms.What caliber?
Same for me. After selling my 30-30 a decade ago I missed having an easy-to-carry woods rifle. This little Ruger setup is just as quick handling and a lot more versatile.Target of opportunity while deer hunting. View attachment 7750339
Maybe I'll take the day off. The walk to the trash can and back was... shall we say.... invigorating. If the wind dies... or moderates... I'll be out there.

Whats the going rate for coyotes?I thought there was one coyote in the back of the truck...
Meeting a fur buyer this pm to get a little gas money.
Whats the going rate for coyotes?
I see snow and ice in the truck so I'm guessing whatever it is it doesnt apply in south Texas.
Awesome opportunity it sounds like. I just got my suppressor on my 6.5 cm and have yet to take it on a coyote hunt. I’m excited to try. I don’t have doe out to the races you’re killing at but am excited to go nonetheless.I didn't bring enough gun this am. I spotted one at 2k struggling to get through the powder snow. I watched it move 1/4 to 1/2 mile and bed in the snow.
I went back out this afternoon and saw some interesting looking tracks in the snow. Got out the spotter... hmmm that looks like the top of a coyotes head/ears in the brush near the base of the rock bluff. It was.
I missed a head shot at 804. Shot over its back at 770, & adjusted my elevation and tipped it over at 740. I love hunting suppressed!
I did not attempt to retrieve the carcass. Maybe I don't need a 22 Creedmoor, and the 6x47 Lapua IS the ideal coyote cartridge, for this terrain anyways...

I fiddled around with a hand call howler. I dunno what the hell I'm doing, sometimes I get coyotes to talk to me, sometimes not.
