Fieldcraft Lethality of the 22LR- Results!

Re: Lethality of the 22LR- Results!

As a kid we would use a single shot 22 rifle to kill pigs and cattle for slaughter. The animals were in a small enclosure and head shots were made from two to eight feet’ away.
Even with that perfect situation for a kill sometimes the head shot would knock the animal down and in a few moments it would get back up and take a second shot to kill it.

The fact that a 22 LR can and will kill a deer sized animal under perfect circumstances does not mean it is a good choice. No ethical hunter should ever conceder using a 22 RF on anything larger than a coyote unless it is in a survival situation
