True that but, their raw butt ugly their tactical ? I Guess I could get a sporter barreled action , give the folks at Calico a call for wood and build it myself. Im very limited on time though, and I like nostalgia and fine hand craftsmanship. The big mag might look alittle funky hanging out of a piece of AAA Carlo walnut?

I don't know what the current status is for the Rem custom shop in Sturgis after the bankruptcy.
I haven't even seen a 547 in the wild. Have a 504T. Which is similar but not a true custom shop gun. A chassis 547 would be interesting with a custom barrel.
If you want to know about 547's.....RFC is the place. They have antire pinned post on it. Snipershide.com is about ugly guns that actually do stuff.

Anschutz 1712 barreled action and a custom stock will get it done for you.
And ain't it the truth. Take a superb idea with outstanding execution of the action itself and then hang a 5 lb bugger off its bottom. Jbell those are some SWEET Meister grade guns ! Think I got it worked out though. I found some Exhibition grade blanks today pretty reasonable , have it 99% shaped and inletted , put some A.O. Niedner grip and butt steel on it. Make or modify a standard mag where it will be right at flush put a blued med heavy Shilen on the RimX and drop her in ! Mise well put inlayed sling swivels in there to .This is where I would be starting my search

@Rimdenter This is one of @rth1800 52 sporters. If you look at the other pics of his 52s it is evident that this one is a complete custom and absolutely stunning. If the rifle was built by one 'smith the guy's skills are over the top. The reason I posted it is the treatment of the magazine.

Got another question for those with a 52b or 52 c. My 52b with bull barrel and target stock has what numrich calls the forearm adjustment base. I think there is screw missing on the rear. Anyone have one and can provide a picture of what that looks like?

I'm all about exotic wood, but if it isn't a tactical stock like an A5 or MCS T2 style, it feels like a complete waste of good wood.

Wood and tactical? To each their own but I am just not seeing it. Build your tactical stuff out of aluminum and plastic and beat the shit out of them and leave the beautiful wood for beautiful rifles.
Just reminds me of outdated products. I don't shoot from a bench, so these stocks don't present any kind of comfortability of use.
