Rifle Scopes Leupold Deltapoint for ruger 22/45

Anyone have a Leupold Deltapoint they're using? I'm considering one for a 22/45 threaded barrel for some suppressed fast action fun.

I'm just interested in clarity, durability, and can't make up my mind for the 3.5 or 7.5 MOA reticle! Need some guidance. It will only be used on the .22 handgun for steel and target shooting.

I've used one on an M&P 9. It's probably seen around 1500 rounds. In my opinion it's got better clarity than the RMR. It looks clearer tome and it's got a bigger viewing area than the RMR. Can't really comment on the durability on either one since they've only been used at the range; they've both held up equally well and neither have needed to be re-zeroed but the RMR looks significantly sturdier.

Reticle is really more dependent on the type of shooting you'll be doing. I wanted to go with a bigger "dot" so I went with the 7.5MOA delta and zeroed it soI aim using the tip of the triangle for a fine aiming point and if I'm shooting a bigger target mostly for speed then I can just use it like a dot and put the whole triangle over the target.
If you shoot more for speed I'd get the bigger size and if you mostly shoot for groups I'd get the smaller one.

Thanks, I was thinking along the same lines of being able to use the tip for precision work and whole dot for better speed. I'll mostly be using this for steel and other targets while working on speed. I just wasnt sure how clear the tip of the 7.5 is for closer precision work.

I cannot speak of the Deltapoint, but I can for both the Burris Fastfire and the Trijicon RMR RM06 3.25 MOA on a Ruger MkIII. I much prefer the smaller MOA dot. At distances over 30y, even the 3.5 appears to cover too much target real-estate to me. The bigger RMR 6.5 dot seemed to me to cover too much of any target at any distance. My experience could be biased since I started with a small dot, but I do not believe that I am able to get on target any faster with a bigger dot. My vote is for small MOA dots.

I can't really comment about that because I shoot with an RM07 a good bit also and it's 6.5MOA dot. The furthest I shoot pistols at the range is 25 yards usually on 6" and 8" steel plates so I just wanted something fast.

I just noticed Leupold is coming out with an upgraded version - Deltapoint 2 sometime late spring this year. I may wait for this one and give it a try. It may be released in the next month or two, who knows. Just need to read some more on pros and cons of both reticle options.
