I'm looking at 1-4/5/6x scopes for my LMT and a firedot is one of the ones I'm considering but I'm a bit confused when it comes to the reticle illumination. Exactly how does it work? The "motion sensor" has me a little worried, can it be completely shut off/disabled so the illumination isnt kicking on every time the gun is moved?

Yes it can be shut off so it will not turn on, just hold the button down and it will turn off. If you pick it up it will not turn on.

If it is on and you put it down without turrning it off it will turn off, when you pick it up again it will turn on.

Thanks Mike. Have you guys had any issues with any of the ones youve sold? My experience with leupy in the past hasn't been great but I've heard they have really stepped their game up. Because of the reticle design it's my top pick, I'm also looking at the weaver 1-5 and the bushnell 1-6.25.

I've got one of the firedot VX-R patrol scopes. Still on it's first battery after almost a year. Dot setup is really useful, and definitely daytime bright. In fact, a lot of days I have to turn it down. I think it is a great scope. I have not one bad thing to say about it.
