Leupold Mark 4 10X M118 question

Hi all,

Looking at this Mark 4 10X for an XM25 build and had a question on the elevation dial. The M118 is marked on the top as opposed to the side. Anyone know about this variant? Now to find some vintage Leupold rings…. Thanks!

All the M118 dials I have and seen are marked on the side, like below (although that’s for a M3 6X).

I was misremembering my scope. Mine is marked on the top, but it's not M118 marked.

All my capped M3 dials have the markings on the side. But they are older dials. That may be a newer production or custom dial from the Leupold Custom Shop. You can look up their contact info in their website and send them a message asking about it. Leupold is very good at responding to these sort of inquiries, due to so much of their scopes being faked and copied.

Looks like newer production dials do have the markings on top. This is from an M3 10X with the new markings on the bottom.

"Newer" is definitely a relative term. I have a scope from 2002? that is marked on top like that.

Not to hijack the OP’s thread, but if you insist… I call it the REAL tiger stripe camo. Yes, it’s molded in. And no, McMillan will definitely not do this camo nowadays.
