Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25 Reviews?

got Behind my friends and it was sweet. I had a mark 4 and just sold it now waiting on my new mark 5 to get here but I ordered the 7-35

I have used several over the past 3 years (probably 6 or 7 individual scopes) and I have loved all of them. I think the optical quality is excellent, and as far as I could tell (didn't run specific tracking tests) the tracking was spot on. I like the push-button locking system, and the zero stop is super easy to set. Shot out to a mile with them and was pleased the whole way out!

They are great scopes, I've done a tracking test on mine and it was literally dead on up to 50 moa
Been running it for over a year, with hundreds of rounds from a 300 PRC and 338 NM, super solid which is the first time I can honestly say that about a Leupold

I have both. The Mark 5 is a great scope, but it’s not a Mark 8. To me, the Mark 8 is just a tad better optically.
How about eye box? The only and I mean the only thing I had to nitpick about the mk8 was the looking through a straw feeling I had with it. Didn’t matter for any practical purpose but it was different from what I’m used to.

Outside of that it’s an amazing scope. I regret selling mine.

@shakemandril has convinced me just using one of his mk5 was enough to order my own as compared to owning 3x gen2 vortex razors the glass is much clearer light gathering and transmission seems better in all the scenarios ive shot it in so far and they have a wide range of reticles to choose from as well also like thatyou dont pay for illumination unless you need it ive replaced one of my gen2 razors so far and will be upgrading another not to far down the road

I absolutely love my 5’s! Far above the Razor that I had before. Optical clarity and color definition is excellent. One drawback a buddy mentioned to me was that the Parallax is touchy when compared with his SB PMII. I currently run a 5-25 Tremor3 and a 7-35 CCH and I wish I would have stuck in thr 5-25 range for the NRL type matches I shoot. Anything beyond the 25x range just amplifies the mirage out here in the SW and makes it too easy to crank passed the useful magnification. Not a big deal, I just need to work on getting it down.

Thinking about this scope for a DMR replacing an ACOG?
Specifically the 3.6-18. Sort of like the simple reticle.
Think that’s a great choice. I have a lot of time behind an acog and loved every minute of it but think you’ll find the 3.6-18 so useful compared to the acog
