Apart from the differing features, and I know one is SFP and the other is FFP, but do they actually have the same glass and clarity? I have heard rumours they do and some guys guessing, but anybody have both to compare or actually know factually?

I have a Mark 5 5-25 and a VX-5HD 2-10. As far as comparing those 2, the glass is not the same. Mark 5 is better IMO. Dont get me wrong, the VX-5HD is a great scope for hunting, can see in legal light just fine, but it is not the same as the Mark 5. Maybe in some of the other VX-5HD scopes this might be different.
