Interested if anyone has extra. All the stores I got a hold of in Texas are sold out. They don't pick up phones.
Snagged the display model at Clarksville, IN, anyone have a 35 mm cantilever mount for an AR they want to hook me up with?
i have a bobro dual lever mount i can let go, but i never sell anything so not sure how i would take payment.

I bought one of the Mark 5s online at full retail price, should be delivered tomorrow. Trying to figure out a way to return it and have them apply the sale and buy it back, otherwise I am just going to return it.

Does anyone know how we can identify these deals other than by accident when they ring up? When I bought mine another guy at the counter said he bought 6 Sig thermal scopes a while back for $450 per. Normally 1800.

Go study retail arbitrage. Spend a few weeks. There are courses you can pay for where someone else teaches you—if you dont want to spend the time.
My buddy makes a very good living doing this actually, and I’ve done similar things on the side. This was new to me though that there is a “hidden” not advertised price, even on the item in store. The Cabelas employees were shocked and thought it was a glitch.
It’s called “retail arbitrage” if you google it for those looking to learn.

Fundamentally it is the same from a moving parts perspective. Albeit on a smaller scale.
The only reason this was made public was because it was a dog of sorts. Sale price + sales tax+ outbound shipping= too little profit potential because of Leupold’s leo/military discounted price. Assuming it was sold at just under to slightly over that mfg direct discount price. Which seems to be the case.
Compared to the Spotter deal I referenced earlier where aquisition costs were $275 otd avg and resale were $750 plus shipping. The Sig Thermal deal is similar.
Retailers everywhere do this. Quietly clearance things out. And the retail arbitrage people come snag them up instantly. Those brands miss the clearance or below MAP sales Issues. You standing next to the guy at Home Depot with the cart full of Dewalt leaf blowers dont feel slighted. More importantly you dont know to then go back to the customer service desk and ask for the difference since it is now “on sale” even though you just bought it for full price.
There are services you can pay to join and be a part of. They use computers to compare current prices to that retailers archived prices. Any reductions below a preset percentage trigger automatic alerts for you to manually review.
You got to understand. Its not a hidden price persay. Its a markdown that occured in store only. And after the labels were printed. Some stores send a list for manual repricing. Sometimes they dont do anything and wait for the retail arbitrage people to sort it out for them. Which keeps employees from buying them or hiding the actual stock in store until they get paid again.
Walmart especially is NOTORIOUS for this. Employees get the lists and hide the actual merchandise EVERYWHERE in the store. Just so they can later buy it. Or until they can send someone to buy it for them—as some store locations now forbid employees from buying clearance merchandise.

I was told you can order to a store and when you pickup return them and they will honor sale price. Worst case I just return them if they wont.
hmmm well I plan to head to the store tomorrow or Thursday with my scope to see if they will honor it. I still have one shipping that was purchased at the store for the sale price as well so if I return this one its no loss.
Just saw it was an nxs or something. You know what we're all not thinking about? Cabelas charged 1800 bucks for the mk5 3.6-18 tmr for the longest time and sold who knows how many at that price. That's one hell of a mark up. They can let the rest of their stock go at 899 and still come out way ahead id bet. Not like they're losing anything on this excerpt for inventory
One of the reasons why Leupold is So popular is their large mark-up and and strict map pricing. Exaggerated MSRP on their site makes for a better looking price on the shelf.
Their sales model is pro retailer, which gets them in more locations which builds more sales.
So yes, they have made a ton selling these scopes and at this price I would imagine still have a small margin built in.

I bought it Saturday morning, on a hope I could get the sale price when I went in the store. It looks like they are out of stock online now though for this model, at least according to their app.
Not really, it is manipulating the market. And it is an asshole move. Just like the turds that drove to every store buying up sanitizer and TP just to try and fuck their neighbor or the gas station that jacks up the price during a hurricane
While I understand you point of view I don't necessarily agree 100%. TP, sanitizer, paper towels, lysol, clorox are all things that are a necessity especially during a pandemic that we are going through on this planet. A scope is not a necessity but a luxury and to be honest fair game. Someone wants to buy 6 scopes and try and sell them for a profit, hey they got there first and waiting in line or drove 4 hours to do this. It sucks when you are also trying to enjoy a sweet deal but sometimes thats how the cookie 
crumbles. I'm happy to see though how many members on the hide went out of their way to help each other by driving and picking up a scope or two and only sell them for $100 over cost for their time which is fair.

Price gouging is all about hurt feels when an enterprising individual makes a profit versus the corporations who do it day in and day out....
