Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Mk4 LR/T and the ER/T models are? It appears to me that the LR/Ts are sfp and the ER/Ts are ffp. Is there any difference in the quality of the lens or or tracking ability?
I looked through several ER/Ts yesterday and was pleased with what I saw however am able to buy an ER/T in my price range and didn't know how much different they are in quality.
Also are all Mk4s wire reticle?
Thanks.

Re: Leupold Mk 4 scopes

Leupold does not use a wire mildot reticle anymore, the football shaped wire mildot was done for them by Premier, when they cut ties they lost the capability.

The ER/Ts are the same glass as the LR/Ts, and not all are FFP, Leupold makes several FFP however if it is not listed in the specifications then it is not FFP, this excludes the fixed 10X scopes.

Re: Leupold Mk 4 scopes

Was it always that way. I seem to recall that er/t used to be a mix of ffp / sfp?

I could just be wrong though. I ask in case the OP goes to an online retailer that might have some old stock etc...

Re: Leupold Mk 4 scopes

I beleave the 3.5-10 is a LR/T and can be had in FFP. I think the 4.5-14 and above are ER/T in FFP.
I have never made sense out of Leupold's designation of LR/T v. ER/T.

Re: Leupold Mk 4 scopes

The LRT's are Long Range and ERT's are Extended Range. Not sure what exactly that means so take it for what it's worth. There was a recent thread on Mark 4's with everyone's opinion and dislikes, you ought to check it out.
