Rifle Scopes Leupold

Re: Leupold

For hunting scopes Leupold's are okay but you could probably buy a better or similiar scope for less money.

Truthfully I'm not terribly excited about the VX-1 or 2's and believe that they are marginal and sell(at those prices) just because the bear the Leupold name. I think that my nikon has at least as good if not better glass and was about 70-75% of the cost.

Look around this site, use the search(in my sig line) its your friend.

Re: Leupold

Thanks. I tried searching, but the feature on here is not do good. I will try the one in your sig. For what it is worth, I looked through the VXII and the VX3 side by side, and the II seemed much more clear .

Re: Leupold

I have several Leupold VXIIs. I also have one Nikon. My newest Leupold is a Mark AR 3x9 and it is very good and it is made in the US. I also have some vipers, IORs and weavers as well. You may want to go to a local sporting goods store to compare the glass and features. Test them on a cloudy day outside the store and use the same settings to get a good idea on each scopes quality. The Nikon monarch does have better glass than the VXII, so compare the same class of scopes. I am not a big fan of the BDC on the Nikon, however, my son likes it.
