Rifle Scopes Leupy mk 4 question

i have a mk4 3.5-10x40 w/ tmr reticle, and my friend wants to trade his acog ta01 for it. i am wondering if they are in the same condition if anyone is getting the shit end of the stick on this. i like the acog because i use one on my issue rifle, and i took the mk4 off of a bolt gun i sold few months back. please let me know what you guys think

Well I'm not saying that you're getting the shaft if you do, mostly because I don't know what you paid for yours. An new Acog would probably cost you $1,000 to $1,200 depending on what you get, so all in all I'd say they are close in value. The best thing about an Acog is field of view, so if you're using it on an AR type rifle or even a bolt gun where field of view is important then you might get what you want. If you need magnification, then I'd stay with what you got. If it suits your needs and conditions are relative to each other, then in my opinion you're not really getting screwed. If you can get something you can use and not have to pay any cash, but get rid of something you don't use then you're ahead I think.

With that said, I would definately want to verify that it is indeed an Acog, as there are lots of fakes and alot of them are very hard to tell apart from the real deal! Just because it's stamped on the side of the optic doesn't mean it's a real Acog. I'm just bringing this to your attention as it happens, just the same as it happens with Leupold optics!

i cant get over having to have your eyeball basically inside the ACOG, the eye relief makes for not so comfy shooting. I'd pass twas me

An acog for a leupold,I wouldnt,you need to read the post on the hide here where Acog is refusing to repair some of there scopes because some of them have serial numbers that are registered to DOD,so Acog says we wont fix them if they are broken,I wont buy or trade for any optic that the manufacture wont stand behind period.

How does that make any sense at all.

I also agree, why should trijicon fix stolen goods? It's a liability to them. If it were a car you bought and later found out was stolen when you took it to the dealer would you blame the dealer? No. But you sure would blame the sob who sold you the car, and have recourse against them.
