I have a liberty colonial 30 safe. Tried to get in it last night and the key pad was acting strange some numbers were not working , and the back lit display was blinking when I hit the numbers. Put in a new battery same result. Called liberty no one to talk to till 10am this morning. I was on hold for about an hour. Well liberty is sending out a new key pad which I can replace 3-4 days if that's not the problem they will send a locksmith. They claim that it could be static from touching it. What a bunch of B S. Meanwhile I still can't get in my safe. Anyone else ever had issue with liberty keypad?

I have had mine with the keypad for about 14 years now and when the key pad started having trouble about 3 years in the sent me a new one and all problems were fixed.

No problems like that. I bought the mechanical lock just to avoid those kind of headaches. Takes me longer to get in though, so it better not be an emergency.
This ^^^^^^
Every time I think I should switch to electronic for convenience I hear a horror story like this.
Electronic lock horror stories about 80
Mechanical lock horror stories exactly 1 that I know of.

I had a very similar issue with my Liberty safe when it was new. I'm guessing that was about 12 years ago. Has a keypad very similar to yours. Anyway, I was all bent out of shape over it until the locksmith came and replaced some parts. It's been problem free since. I'd buy the same safe and lock again without hesitation now.

We will see i guess. Nothing I can do now but wait. I don't keep all my eggs in one basket but most of them are in there. If SHTF I will need a time out till I can get in my safe.

If you had issues with the batteries, maybe the keypad defaulted back to it's factory setting. Get out your manual and find out what that combination is and try that!

Good luck!
They sent the new keypad. The outside part is basically a key board the combination is stored in the inside part. When I installed the new keypad I actually used my combination to open it.
