I got a fantastic deal on a Sig sr556mono (less than the tax stamp) but that thing is a pig!!! I was debating on either pining it to a 10.5 barrel but not sure I really want to do that. My other thought was to put it on a lighter weight barrel either a pencil (probably too light) or a hanson or gunner profile. The suppressor is probably every bit of a solid pound hanging on the end. I'm not expecting a 1/2 moa gun but I dont want a massive amount of shift with the barrel heating up or removing the can.
I would like to ideally have a 16" gun that's fairly light that I can throw the can but still have the base rifle nice and light. The can will probably stay on the gun but come off for some matches here and there as it's a direct thread.
I am still fairly new to the nfa world and dont want to waste any of my hard earned funds.
TLDR; can a hanson or gunner barrel profile support a 1lb can without any adverse effects?
