Searching for a scope to go on a lightweight 223 rig, huge open ended question I know, but looking for suggestions.

Currently looking at a NX8, AMG, or a Toric UHD but open to options around the $2k/28oz mark

I do not need the huge mag but I would like a scope that has a more tolerant eyebox for positional shooting.

I have the 4x32 NX8. I really like it does not have the most tolerant eye box, but for sub 2k it’s hard to beat the ruggedness and reticle options.

swarovski Z5i 3.5-18x44P is a pretty good choice for lightweight.

I too was in this search a little while ago and ended up with a LEUPOLD mark5HD

I think it’s pretty hard to beat. I got the smaller one 3.6-18x44mm

I’ve only shot out to 900 with it so far but tracks awesome glass is pretty decent it’s super light and is very impressive in low light.

Almost as good as my vortex razor gen2 with 56mm objective I low light. Something about the coatings on the LEUPOLD makes it work good in low light..

The higher power one with the bigger objective is definitely clearer glass and brighter image but also more weight so I guess it depends on what you need.

I would love to try the mark5 on a mountain rifle. The price is a bit on the high end, and it weights almost twice more than the swarovski.

We love the NX8 4-32 for a lightweight FFP option :)

Depends on what you require of an optic. I bought a MK5 5-25 with a H59 since all my other optics use H59 or T3 reticles. Its been a good scope but it is in currently for warranty. The glass is decent but could be better for the high price tag. My NF ATACR still my favorite optic. But im happy with the mk5 for its intended use

You have not given too many details, but if it is for hunting, how about the new Razor. $999 and 19oz.

Cheers, steve
