I'm convinced the reason we are in the current mess is directly the cause and effect of a Two Party System. We are unable to even consider a repair solution to our current political woes until we find a way to get third, fourth and even fifth parties. The Two Party System is sustaining itself at our expense and all about party loyalty and getting power and money instead of sustaining The Republic....vote how ya want. So long as it is a Democrat or a Republican it'll be the same old yadda-yadda bullshit power and money grab by Elitists and professional politicians until we vote third party. IMO.
