So I am waiting for my 1st can to get out of nfa jail. Hopefully that happens soon. In the mean time I see a lot of alignment shit for cans. I have a cb brake but it is direct thread I know a little confusing (Tbac Ultra 7). Anyways as long and my thread pattern matches I should be able to plug and play right?? Only 2-3 of my rifles are threaded. The rest I plan to get threaded to TBAC's specs...... Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I am a total can newb and don't have any exp so go lightly please

I use your exact setup on multiple rifles. You must use the peel washers which come with your cb break to get the break lined up and true. I clean both thread surfaces with acetone and then use red locktite. After that your done just screw on the beast and enjoy. Hope this helps I believe tb website has some info as well in the faq section.

I use appropriate sized alignment rods to check clearance with the suppressor installed. On every rifle regardless of where it came from. The can alignment has to be concentric with the bore or you could have a baffle strike. Seen more than a few factory threaded barrels that had to be chopped and redone and a few smith built guns that had to be done. After spending that much on the can and stamp and waiting that long, cheap insurance.

Yes this is a good point especially on factory threading. Makes sense to double check

They're just inserted in bore and visually inspected for alignment at suppressor cap. You can also tell a lot just by looking down the bore from breech end w/ suppressor mounted.

I Should’ve taken pics and posted that earlier. Thanks for doing that @Waorani .
And if you have different length cans measure them all. I have one rifle that will pass on a 5inch can,(not as much clearance as I’d like) but if I put my 9 in can on it looks like the 2nd pic above. Definitely into baffle strike territory. And I know the rods aren’t cheap, but considering the cost of your cans, tax stamp and transfer, It’s cheap Insurance that you only have to buy once as long as you take care of them.

I appreciate the info on the alignment rods. Similar to the OP, I have my first can coming in an Ultra 9 with CB mount. I’m wondering what to expect in POI shifts between shooting with the brake alone and the can?

I should add though this is after confirmation through testing. Cold bore and poi shift should be a part of knowing your rifle. Your just going to have to bust out the notebook and test your rig. I wouldn’t expect much with a tb but testing is a must.
