LMFAO- Brain trust that is San Francisco at it again.

LOL

"We got a bazooka off the streets. We got a cannon ball off the streets. We got assault rifles. We got everything that you can name that could destroy a whole universe and we get rid of them within hours," Rudy Corpuz Jr., executive director of United Playaz told KGO.

That's fucking hilarious. Not 100% it was a M72 LAW, but I think it was what my Father had in one of his Olive Drab Lockers in the Garage back in the 60's. Thing was fun as hell to play with. San Francisco, go figure. Next they'll be buying back spent cases and then there goes brass prices......... HOMO'Sapiens.

You must be fucking kidding me, now in Kalifornia you can break into someones house, steal their weapons, commit a crime with them then sell it for cash no questions asked. What The Fuck, Over

I wonder what they gave for that expended AT4? Years ago I traded one of those and a TOW tube to a guy at Penske in exchange for overlooking some pretty nasty damage to my moving rental. He was ecstatic and my old lady had prohibited them in the new house anyway. I should've traded her and kept that shit instead.

well hell, ive got about 10' of 3" PVC pipe and a few cans of OD Green spray paint...i could whip up a few of those bad boys....im sitting on a goldmine

The icing on the cake would be when they find out that “cannon ball” they bought was from the bowling alley

Or a fucking shotput. I'll bet any goddamn thing it's a shotput.

A goddamn cannon ball and a bazooka. Who did this fucking "buyback"? Wile E. Coyote?

And yeah, anyone that'll take $200 for a working semi auto high capacity rifle is probably the one that stole it.

FWIW, they DO sell 9mm tracer conversions for those for training so technically you COULD kill someone with it, though there are easier ways. I saw one for sale recently but don't know anything about 'em other than they're boring as shit. Live 84mm rockets are a lot of fun though. Putting out wildfires for the next week, not so fun.

Over a year ago here in Mpls., a guy taped a pipe to a board and got $100 for it. I was standing next to him in line, it was hilarious. MPD thought it was funny too, and they mocked the whole buy back thing as being stupid. All the MPD guys just stood around talking guns with people and cracking jokes about how pointless the whole charade was. News story here:

http://freebeacon.com/issues/minnesota-police-pay-100-piece-wood-pipe-gun-buyback/

It was a great day. Hundreds of OFWGs selling a ton of old junk for cash, I made out real well. For those wondering, it was not city funded. It was funded by a church or some non-profit...don't recall which one.

I saw this travesty on NBC Nightly News. It was one of their main stories and they trumpeted it as a "Gun Control Victory" They proudly showed the "Bazooka" in the hands of an officer...and in another shot they showed it haphazardly tossed into a van sitting on a pile of other buybacks. It was immediately evident that this was an expended AT-4 tube. But the damage was done...another nationally advertised plea for gun control. This is flat out propaganda, disinformation, and the very definition of "Fake News". The FCC should make them publicly announce a correction. Write your Congressman!

Too funny. Great post !! :p

I thought it was going to be an M72 LAW, guess I'm getting old :(.

I don't know when we replaced them with the AT4, but they were long gone when I was in (90's). However, the Canadians still use them and the Carl G recoilless. I got to shoot both when I was overseas and I felt like a kid acting out Vietnam movies, only thing missing was an M79.

Our troops especially NSW still use them. Marines brought them back also. I think up to A7 now. People get rediculous over spent tubes..they make cool decoration though.
