I'm considering buying a used LMT CQB MRP DI 16" as my first ar15. I know that LMT is a quality built rifle, but what kind of accuracy can be expected from these 16" systems?

They are cryogenically treated 1:7 twist barrels so they can shoot the heavies. Are we talking less than 1 moa accuracy or worse?

I come from the bolt rifle world, so not quite sure what to expect!

Ok, so is this because its 16" or because its LMT? I thought many AR's, even cheaper ones like RRA, come with 1 moa accuracy guarantee? I thought LMT was considered one of the highest quality AR's (not including custom).

Neither, my mistake, I should have clarified. As someone else posted, LMT's will shoot MOA or a little better with quality ammo (and a good trigger). I was going off of what I have always shot through them - LC SS109. Blackhills, Corbon, or Lapua ammo should give you great results.

Mine shoots really pretty good with SW Ammo 77 run and gun and match loads. It will do around moa very consistently. The gun is very bad with anything less than the 77 Grains I have tried.

I've got an LMT MRP piston now and it shoots just about as well as their DI guns do: right around 1.5 MOA. The MRP is a great platform, go for it, you'll love it!
