Are these worth the money, I can't see why they cost $2K plus especially if you're not planning on changing the barrel. A DD V7 is about $1300 and seems just as good, am I wrong? I love the LMT MWS but that's a different ball game, let me know as I want another gas gun but and was considering the LMT but can't justify the $2K for it,

I have one and like it. its not cheap, but its very well built. its great suppressed also, much quieter and smoother than my DI rifles. MWS also is awesome, I agree. it is stupid that many of the MRPs do not have the 2 stage trigger. i have not switched the bbl on either, which is funny cause i paid in $ and weight for that feature!
I have two LMT CQB MRPs - one .223/22LR and one 9mm. Between the two rifles I have 8 barrels for them. I love the flexibility of the platform. If you are not going to utilize the barrel change feature then I think there are a lot of alternatives that are just as good for slightly less money. Ultimately it comes down to how you plan to use it.
Lots of excellent AR platform manufacturers out there. I've owned a DI CQB MRP and currently own a piston MRP and MWS. I love LMT products. I would say you can't go wrong with one. Also, if you shop around you might be able to pick up a DI MRP for around $1700, give or take. You're primarily paying for the monolithic upper/barrel swap system. The MRP may not be for everyone but they're certainly not a bad choice! Good luck.
Also you need to change the trigger, right? I did in my MWS and would assume that you would have to do the same thing in the MRP which is another $150. I can buy one for $2K which I guess is good as they're all $2100 or more wherever I've found them,
I don't think it is a necessity to change out the factory trigger, though one of mine now has a Gieselle SSA and the other has the LMT 2-stage trigger from my MWS. Again, it is simply preference and intended usage.
I just bought a CQBPS16 for well under $2K. If you look hard enough, you can find the deals.

Ive had mine for a year now. Its my only .223 AR. The removable barrel in my case is only useful as a maintenance feature. You can really clean the chamber and get better access to the upper by removing the barrel. When I wanted to get my compensator installed, pinned/welded it was really convenient to only have to mail out a barrel.
I own no calibers or other barrel lengths so Im not getting that utility out of the gun. I think if I want a longer barrel I will probably buy a High Caliber Sales MK12 Mod0 upper and have everything I could ask for covered in my AR world.
I really disliked the single stage trigger the CQB came with. Luckily I had an LMT two satge on hand that came out of my MWS when I installed a Giessele. I think the LMT two stage is a good functioning trigger with a nice solid reset and break. It in no way hinders my shooting.

They really are very easy to change barrels out on if you wish to do that. Do I do that? No. The only time I have ever taken the barrel off of my MRP was to replace the factory 16" with a 10.5" barrel. I used this rifle for work and it is definitely well made and reliable. Would I pay that much for one? Probably not, but I also picked up my LMT for $1350 years ago. You can still find decent prices around if you look.
I love my MWS also but the CQB is everything the MWS is not - starting with light, fast, agile. Hefting the MWS is liking swinging a weighted bat in the on deck circle than going to the CQB seems just ridiculously light.
That's a smoking deal for a brand new MRP. I'd probably add another one to my collection at that price.

I converted it to 6.8, and was not happy the way it grouped, plus bbl specs sucked
so I sold it when Obama got elected and he was coming for all our guns
I got a pof p308 because I could only afford one weapon and it seamed more versatile to me, from hunting - targets to 600 - to cqb with 110gr tap
the mrp selling point is the upper, so if that is main priority for you then yes
other 2k weapons have diff. selling points and believe these to be the best for the price group
kac, name and bolt, cool rail syst. trigger, ambi, lighter than an mrp... Considered to be THE AR of AR's ... kind of like a guys guy
pof, np3 if you like that, trigger, and a supper bbl, ambi, piston, and billet
mrp, cool upper, can switch di to piston, and diff. bbl lengths awesome platform for a sbr, since you can switch back and for 16in to 10.5 ect..
No trigger upgrade, no ambi
one thing to consider, at present time mrp's and pof's, lwrc are dime a dozen in our circles
but the knights isn't or atleast not always for sale, so it will hold price much better
go with any of these three
with the points that appeal to you the most

Agree w/ spdrcr. The attraction of all MRPs, to me, is the modularity of the platform, i.e., the ability to swap barrels w/ little down time.
My MRP SBR was a 10.5" CL that was cut back to 9" or so when the A2 FH was ditched for a KX3. Been playing w/ it for 5-6 yrs now and, short of going to a can, the KX3 performs as its late designer intended. Yeah, the overall set-up of this SBR is heavier than many (maybe most) SBRs out there but you can make certain choices in furniture to keep it as light as possible. (Older pics below.) The 93B robot-leg stock, for example, has since been replaced by the much lighter CTR. I also swapped out the stock trigger for a Geissele SSA, which tightened my groups. Accuracy has been excellent out to 300yds, but a 9" SBR is, ballistically, a fighter only within 100yds or so using the 75gn-77gn OTM ammo. (I developed a handload for mine that's a stupid one-hole maker @ 100yds using 70gn Berger HPs + Varget+standard CCI primers).
Firing on 200+yd poppers ...

No one should be paying $2,000 for these. If you actually take the time to look they can still be found for sub $1500.
They are sweet rifles though and I plan on making one my next rifle purchase. If your not going to ever buy another barrel or take the original one off, then yes, there are much cheaper options like a DD.
