I don’t have a surefire can, I have a Thinderbeast 30p-1. I wonder how that can increases back pressure?
Lrdchaos, I own a LM8MWS, run 100% suppressed. Using a SilCo Hybrid and Harvester BigBore. The gun is/was overgassed.
Now as far as choices...you can go 3 different ways in terms of managing gas on your rifle. I have a couple of posts on this item.
1) A GemTech Suppressor Carrier, the drawback is that it has an on and off setting only. Reliability was ok, but the price was high (200+). (I found this to be the least desirable because its only on/off)

2) Install a heavy buffer from heavybuffers.com, depending on what your config is he offers a spring and buffer combo, buffer is about 10-11Oz. This helps with the timing and reliability when running suppressed. It will run you about $100. (Id try this first for most users this is the best option, there is a BUT)
3) My preferred option is to use a combination of a heavy buffer ad an adjustable gas key. The gas key can be tuned to your ammo and the buffer will help with timing. This has created an incredibly reliable and tunable gas mitigation strategy. The reason the adjustable gas key is a good option is at the time you swap a barrel for another factory barrel as those we are unable to change the gas block.

I guess there is another last option once your barrel burns out, get a new barrel made with your extension and sleeve from the burned out barrel. Riverbend Gun Company in KC, Jeff Hayes, can get one done for you...he is an awesome gas gun smith, he used to work at GA Precision and now has his own shop.
good luck and if you have questions let me know...there is other users on this forum, elfster1234 is one I believe...he is really knowledgeable on this platform. Hopefully someone else might chime in.
