Cleaning out my friends Dad's garage we came across a couple hundred pulled projo's he had in his reloading stuff and since I got them why not load them ? I have '09LC Brass ,Fed 210M primers and powders availible on hand are ..Varget , Benchmark , RL-19 ,BLC-(2) , & AR Reloader Comp.
Anyone have any load data or suggestions ?? yes I googled some loads but would like some more input ?
Thanks !

I have never loaded those in 308. I have loaded the FN 152 grain AP bullets pulled from izzy ammo though. I used 46 grains WW748 with a mag primer and it was hot. Accuracy was mediocre as well. I would start with 41-42 grains of varget and work up.

yea i was thinking of around 40gr varget maybe 38gr w/LC brass capacity to start with , i read that I might have to resize the projos ?? know anything about that ? not really that many that we have to load , but figure might as well use them if we can instead of tossing them ?

I've used them before...was reasonably good on accuracy. For some reason I'm thinking they were originally in 30-06...mine came from belt amo.

can't remember my loads as it's been about 20 years ago...just load them for the weight.

Re: Load suggestion needed .30cal AP projectiles .308

Those never were loaded in a 308. That is from old '06 ammo. I have a bunch from '52. I asked the same question you did several months ago, "Load them by weight." Pretty simple. Find some 165gr data and load them up, being mindful of starting at the bottom and working up.
Those bullets do not need resizing. They look to have been pulled proper with a good tool that doesn't mar the bullet.

You'd probably be able to trade them two or three for one in your favor for good hunting bullets. .308 caliber AP bullets sell for silly amounts of money, if you're going to shoot hogs with them why not swap them out for even more bullets better suited for your task?

Re: Load suggestion needed .30cal AP projectiles .308

You could probably sell them for nearly $1 apiece. I seen some on AR15.com go for that. If you decide to load them, keep in mind they have a longer bearing surface than most other 165 grain bullets due to the steel core, and will produce higher pressures as a result. No resizing should be needed, unless the bullets were deformed during the pulling process, as these were originally loaded in 30/06 as stated above.
