Just curious, but how does everyone load the bipod?

I've heard some say negative pressure (pulling toward you), staying neutral pressure, or positive pressure forward. I've heard reasons for all of them but I'm curious what seems to be the best way for getting the best results at range?

Re: Loading the Bipod

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this easier to do on an Atlas? I have a Harris and haven't had much luck with controlling jump. Looks easy on the video, but I also don't get to shoot prone much. I am guessing that helps as well?

Yes, I found it to be MUCH easier to load up an atlas then a harris.

Re: Loading the Bipod

bipod hop can happen from things even if you have the bipood loaded correctly. Not coming straight back on the trigger, sympathetic squeeze of the rear bag are a couple.

Re: Loading the Bipod

load forward

i used to have problems with my harris when I used it with my mosin nagant, same as stated above, would get more bounce out of that one than some of my others. I bought a pair of metal feet for it from larue tactical and it helped a bit.

Might wanna grab a pair of those too if you are having trouble controlling bounce.

Re: Loading the Bipod

The harris is pretty stiff compared to the AI/Atlas bipod which bend more during recoil making it slightly easier to control. I just switched from the parker hale bipod to atlas and noticed it was much easier for me.

Although I was overloading the bipod as well.

If I were you I would just bite the bullet so to speak and sign up for the snipers hide online training there is so much info in there and lisa and jacob could not be any more helpful completely worth the money and more.
