I just bought a Remington 700 SPS Tactical which sports a 20" barrel. It's an awesome rifle and was incredibly accurate right out of the box but because the SPST has a short barrel, should I be using a powder with a faster burn rate?
I used 168gr Nosler Accubond bullets with 42.7gr of H4895 for barrel break in. Had the H4895 on hand which was on the recommended list however, I noticed it was nearly the slowest burning powder of the lot. Should I be using powder like Benchmark or H322 in this case, or does it make that much difference?
Thanks in advance,
bd
