Well, stopped by Roberts Precision Rifles today just to check out what new creations he might be working on and wow, did I have good timing or what! He had just finished building the Lone Survivor rifle that will be auctioned off for the Lone Survivor Foundation . The fit and finish of this rifle is about the best you could ask for, and the paint on the stock, amazing….both were done with absolute care and detail. This rifle was built using about all of the best components on the market and it shows! I just could not stop looking at this rifle and all the small details from the perfect bedding job, to the crown and fit/finish of the muzzle brake. The barrel is also a work of art in itself, I had never seen anything like that in person so it was a sight to see! Anyway, just thought I would share! One hell of a rifle for one hell of a foundation is all I can say!

Here are some specs and pics I took this afternoon!

McMillan HTG stock
BAT Machine VRPIC action
Hart MTU Diamond fluted 1/10 twist .308
Badger Ordnance rings, DBM, and FTE muzzle brake
Leupold 4.5x15x50 Ill TMR reticle
Jewell Trigger
Stock painting by Jeromy Holmes of Dimentions by Holmes (http://www.dimensionsbyholmes.com/)
All chambering, fitting, bedding done by Aaron Roberts of Roberts Precision Rifles (http://www.rprifles.com/)

The detail in the eagle is remarkable. That is a very attractive rifle. I'd have to shoot it, but it would be done so VERY carefully

Well done, hope it brings a equally remarkable sale.

I believe its a 300 winmag in a XLR Industries chassis. Not 100% sure on the caliber.

my question is how do you paint something like that hand have it stand up to work, i expect these are display case queens. I couldn't own anything like that because i will shoot the paint right off. if it is paint.

GAP and several others use Jeromy for their paintwork, once the paint cures (clearcoat and all) it is extremely durable.

Even an unpainted rifle will lose it's finish if you beat the hell out of it.
