Is this the thread to ask questions?

If so about how many rounds are recommended for these types of matches?

Is this something for a new match shooter? As in first match? (There are no matches around me)

The round count will be around 200 for the 2 day course of fire. I shot my first PRS match in TX, before ever shooting a club level match. If you have good data on your gun, know your velocity and have trued you BC, then it would be fine to shoot this as a first match. There are always first time shooters at PRS matches. This will be a friendly match environment and a good time.

Ok thank you. I have good MV data and my reloads do pretty well.

I'm going to see if I can make this. I have a really expensive gun and gear built for this about time I use it haha.

I shot this match last year, my second PRS match ever. They put on a good match, great folks, great RO's. Very challenging courses of fire, stupid small targets! It's a great match and I'd say no problem at all if it's your first match. Folks in your squad will help out and just tell the RO "Hey, first PRS match." They'll make sure you're good to go. Unfortunately I can't make it this year, looks like a whole season off for me, but next year I'm planning on being back at Lone Survivor. It's my September vacation destination!

Excuse my ignorance. Do you have to be member of a shooting club, like PRS, or can you go and shoot this for fun?

I answered my own question. I was able to get to the link finally. Wasn't able to see it well on my phone.

Most targets will be 1-2 MOA this year, a few may be even larger on some positional stages. There will be a 50/50 mix of prone and positional stages each day.

All I have is my phone so can you enlighten me?

Yes, you can register as a NON PRS shooter. You have to select the shooter type drop down to see it. I won't know if I have that weekend available for a while. Hopefully there will be slots left open once I know.
