My son is moving to this area . My wife and me plan on spending winters in the area. Looking at long range shooting club membership. Any body call this area home? Thank you for your consideration,Ron

Since we're largely a private property state, you're pretty much limited to local shooting ranges or some venues with long range resources. South Hills Rifle Range in Utopia is supposed to be an excellent facility, about $50/3hr session from last I'd seen and about 1.5hrs from San Antonio. Owner is involved in the long range precision game, so supportive of the programs. Call ahead.

Dietz Gun Shop in New Braunfels has a range to 200yds and is much closer by-about 30 miles up I35 towards Austin.

Best of the West is northwest of Austin in Liberty Hill and runs out to 1000yds. About 2-2.5hrs from SA

Closer by in Bandera and limited to 100yds is the Bandera Gun Club on Hwy 1077 just south of town. I live a mile from there and easy for me to run over any time I need to. Limited website, but on FB
JM Clements is owner. Registered skeet shoots. 5 25yd bays for handgun. 6 covered positions for rifle to 100yds. 830.796.4610.
There are a handful of other venues you can visit and determine best fit. And of course, Rifles Only is in Kingsville, a couple of hours south of SA. Those above I've either used or come highly regarded. Hope that gets you started.
