I am looking at a Desert Tactical SRS in .338 LM. I would probably end up with teh .308 conversion as well but starting out would just be looking at the complete gun in .338. What do you guys think? I know some of you have them. Let me know about them and what you think. I would be making the purchase probably mid summer. Where is the best place to purchase one and what price am I looking at?

Not sure on the wait, but you may have trouble getting anyone next week with the SHOT Show going on. I am sure DTA will be there to debut their new products/accessories/etc.

yeah i know the guys i talked to were goin to be at the shot show i would wait a week before calling if your not in a hurry give them a chance to get back to help you out.

If it helps, I had posted a range report of the SRS in 338 LM (http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...849#Post1377849) and just put up a post about caliber conversions for 308 and 260 remington. There's some good threads on the SRS which would probably be easiest to find under the search terms "DTA" "SRS" or "Desert Tactical". They will be out and very busy for Shot Show, but have always called me back when I've left a message. Sometimes it just takes them a few days. There's a couple in the FS section, at very fair prices, but it's not one of those that you'll see anyone do a "blowout deal" on (unless they're on drugs or in seriously dire circumstances). I agree with Poison that you would not go wrong from purchasing direct from DTA. Hope it helps,
