Looking For a .22 LR Barrel Chambered for .223

Better to just build a dedicated 22 upper/bolt if you dont want to run the CMMG kit in your reg AR

I did this with cheap parts (barrel/bolt) from Right To Bear Arms and it has worked great through a lot of boxes of Fed Automatch and several other bulk ammo brands. Used a BCM blem upper and some kind of short HG I got cheap used here

Go short and tuck a can under the HG for extra fun factor

Green Mountain makes 12 and 14 twist for retro builds

ETA:
If you want better accuracy buy a Beyer barrel and the collar for your converter kit.

I can say from experience that my CMMG conversion kit works just fine out of my 1:7 twist 5.56 barrel. Is it match accuracy? No. But nothing other than a purpose built match gun with the right lot of ammo will be. If you're just looking for short range fun throw the conversion kit on and get to blastin'

Yeah shooting 22LR out of a 5.56 barrel works ok. The rim fire round just spins faster and is slightly loose in the larger bore. The other way around does not work quite as well as the barrel is way too slow in terms of twist and the bore is too tight creating pressure issues.
