I am planning a DMR/SPR build.

I am looking at a few scopes with 34mm(nightforce) and 35mm(mark5hd) tubes.

I am trying to find a rugged mount that can withstand patrolling type conditions and has the ability to top mount a red dot.

Note: please respond if you have experience in this realm. I'm looking in the 200 dollar range and up.

Please don't message me trying to sell a mount. I'm looking for options that I will purchase new.

Thank you

If you're interested in having an offset red-dot to compliment a longer range scope, take a look into Badger Ordinance C.O.M.M. They have integrated offset mounts so you won't need to mount the offset forward or rearward of the primary optic on the rail. They run about 300.

I can't remember where I read it but someone received a COMM mount with the wrong 1913 "claws" ... so if you get one ... double check before mounting and screwing up your upper...

I tend to start look at Geissele, and then work down in budget to Badger, and up in perfomance for pounding solid results with Spuhr. Nighforce and Steiner have a dog in that fight as well.

For 35mm it is less selection. 34mm you can go anywhere.

Go to assumption is Geissele, then if price tag is too high, back down to Badger, which is solid but a bit heavier. If the rifle has a lot of recoil or rough use, Spuhr, and you get a built-in bubble.

I like Nighforce. But the mounts generally include a 20 MOA, which might not be apprpriate for <800 yard targets. Steiner is pretty versatile, and you can get the bubble built in, but I do not think three is a 35mm option.
