Basically as the title says, where can I find foam cut for an AICS? My rifle is a R700 aac-sd with the 1.5 chassis. I can find basic R700, M24, McMillan, pretty much anything with a normal stock but I am having a hard time finding anything for the chassis. I don't trust myself doing the cutting and I would really like the factory cut look if I can. Thanks.

Cutting the foam or your file is not that hard to do, but it definitely requires a little time and patience. You might want to see if there is a specialty foam place in your neck of the woods (I didn't know here was such a thing either, turns out there's one 5min from me). I cut the foam out in a pelican for my KRG W3C and am very happy with it, but if you don't feel comfortable with it, or don't want to spend the time, the link below is for custom cut-outs.

Information on how to order a custom gun case

Best of luck,

Patriot cases custom cut foam for a DTA and another for my 3 gun rifle, pistol and shotgun. I took picture with a tape measure laid out and he cut them based on that. They both turned out great. I like the foam he uses better than what comes with a pelican.

Mile High has them in stock and ready to roll in Pelican iM3200 and iM3300 sizes for AI rifles/chassis-equipped rifles for between $325-350 shipped. They are first-rate cases/foam if they'll fit your rifle/gear appropriately and offer you room for all you want/need in the case. See here for more info (you'll likely only need the iM3200 based on the 20" tube on the AAC-SD and shorter OAL of the rifle):

That said...with a little time, measuring/marking (twice ;) ), and careful cutting, you can achieve very good results with the DIY option. While I like the "custom" cuts...I have yet to find one that was a 100% fit for my gear (at least as tight as I wanted on all sides) and all leave something that just "isn't quite right" unless you are paying somebody to do YOUR RIFLE/GEAR ON YOUR CASE. It isn't rocket science to do the layout/measuring/marking/cutting and while, short of using a hot wire cutter, it won't look as "clean" as a factory case, it'll allow you to have everything cut just as you want it, just for your rifle/gear, and at a FAR cheaper price than the $325-350 offerings from MHSA.

Thanks for the replies. The IM3300 looks like it fits the bill. The 3200 looks like it is close, inside dimensions are 44" in length, my rifle measures 42.5". Hope to supress the rifle in the future as well so the added length of the 3300 might not be a bad idea.

I checked out the cases on mile high and the 3200's seem to be cut for a folder while I have the 1.5 chassis. I did watch some youtube videos and it does look pretty easy. I thought I read a while back the foam needed to be wet and frozen to do properly. Doesn't look to be the case.

I have an ICC aluminum case I was going to practice on but it is 4 layers of 1" foam and I don't really want 2 full layers one side and one layer other. This case is also split 50/50 at the hinges while the storm is 33% lid, 66% bottom centering the weapon if there are 3 layers.

So is my guess of 3 layers correct on the storm?
What are the differences in the pelican 1750 and the iM3300?
