Looking for recommendations on a Heavy .22 cal bullet for hunting. I have seen the Varmegeddon and Nosler but would like a little heavier than just 60gr. Have i overlooked someone?

Will be loading .223 Rem and .224 Valkyrie.

TTSX is available if you want to consider monolithic bullets. The TSX and TTSX are non-lead and available in a wide range of weights.
The Sierra Game King is another old favorite. That one comes in at 65 grains and is a typical lead tipper Spitzer boat tail.

I noticed you mentioned the Varmegeddon. Are you looking for a varmint bullet for violent expansion, or something with more penetration? The ones I mentioned would be more typical of pig hunting or similar. There are other bullets that expand violently for varmints and coyotes.

Nosler has a 70 gr Accubond. I need to kill something with the 75gr ELDM that I shoot out of my 223 and see how they do. I have heard good things about the 65gr Game king, just haven't tried them.

I run the 88gr ELDM at 3000-3085 out of my 22BR, but I am not going to carry a 18-20 lb rifle out hunting. My next 223 barrel will be a 1-7 twist so I can try them in it.

I’m mean I shoot the 90gr smk outta my Valkyrie at 2800 FPS. But would be worried about bullet fragging at impact. I’m taking a hard look at those 78 gr tsx. Forgot all about Barnes.

I have some 83 gr Hammer Hunters arriving soon that I'll be loading up. Hopefully I can report in on how they perform.

Also, may check out Lehigh defense and cutting edge bullets. I think both of them offer some heavy for cal 22 bullets.

Heavy to me is maybe not heavy to you, but I have taken lots of whitetails with the 65gr Sierra game king.
But I took a lot with lesser bullets too. But when I switched to the Sierra I was happier with what I seen.

All 1 shot stops, some nice sized whitetails too. Nosler makes a 60gr partition, Winchester makes a good 64gr bullet.
Many would still consider these light, but I shoot 1x9 twist barrels.

I have good luck with match bullets hunting. Shot placement is what it’s all about, so whatever your rifle shoots best is what I would go with. I think 88 eldms, or 80 eldms, berger 85.5 would be money.
