I am looking for a superior stool. It needs to be collapsible, preferably to a cylinder. Also must be able to hold the all the weight that a soldier may carry, but still be lightweight. I have seen exactly what I am looking for in the past at a website, but now I can't find it. Does anyone know a good stool?

If you're a B4 in a sniper team leader slot getting ready to deploy to Astan raise your hand.

Guess only the guy asking the original question can raise his hand. Maybe instead of posting pics of shit, his question could be answered so he can go kill bad guys more effectivly.

Re: looking for a lightweight, heavyduty stool

they dont usually cover that in class jj due to the cosine angle of the dangle requirement it would add weeks to the curiculum if they had to teach all these yahoos how to hit the toilet. better for them to just mess their skivvies in place than be confused by math and a seated position.

Another vote for the Walkstool. I'm a field engineer for a huge multinational corporation. The Walkstool is the only thing I've found that is sturdy, comfortable and damned light. It makes a nice carry-on to go with the laptop.

Re: looking for a lightweight, heavyduty stool

Love the Walkstool,
I've been using them for years. I saw them first in Germany at an international shooting event. Seemed like everywhere I looked, somebody had one of these kewl stools. At most ranges I've visited in Europe, they don't have any type of benches or seating in the waiting areas, so many folks just bring a Walkstool, and either sit on it, or at least put their range bag on it to keep it up out of the mud.

They make them in different heights, so think about your needs....shorter is easier to pack...longer is easier to get up and down off of, and easier for me to shoot off of....just something to think about.

They are VERY durable, and VERY lightweight.

Cabela's sell some hunting stools that are small lightweight and easy to carry like this one. http:

Re: looking for a lightweight, heavyduty stool

I have a version of the trail stool in real tree, I'm sure the one I have is not an REI one. I can not remember where I got it but I used the one I have at NTC, JRTC, home, as well as hunting. Simple, small and efffective providing you are not an absolute fatass in which case you should spend more time standing!
