Looking for a pic of a Rem 700 Sporter barrel in a Varmint stock channel

I'm just wondering how ugly this looks. I'm thinking of obtaining a stock for a Sporter/skinny barrel Rem 700 LA 30-06 and was thinking maybe I should buy something with a wider barrel channel for when I eventually get it rebarreled.

I ran a Sendero contoured barrel in a Manners T4A stock with a M24 contour because I new I was going to replace the barrel with a M24. It wasn't obvious and didn't look out of place.

Here's a sporter (30-06 even) barrel in a 5r stock (I think varmint contour). It's soon to be opened up for an M24 contour though

I run a short sporter barrel in a bobby hart stock that has plenty of room around it. It looks good and gets a lot of compliments.

Your rifle looks a lot better in that stock than my sporter would look in an HS Precision stock with Varmint contour barrel channel. I think I'm going to look for stock with a narrower channel until I'm ready to rebarrel.

find a cheap varmint contour, buy some devcon, and skim bed it as well as full length beddind the barrel at once. Fairly easy to do using painters tape, and patience. Then when you do upgrade have the barrel fitter inlet the stock for the new barrel.
