    hey all,

Long story short, my birthday is in a month and my present to myself is going to be a Schmidt & bender 5-25 with the MSR reticle. I would like it to be black and have CCW turrets. I've emailed a few dealers and so far the ones that have gotten back to me have only had Tan colored ones in stock.

Where should I be looking and who should I be contacting? I haven't purchased a high end scope in years so whoever has one i'd like to grab it.

    Appreciate any suggestions or help.

    Thanks.

I've purchased from Euro Optic before, they usually have an excellent selection of S&B scopes and have some great customer service and knowledgeable sales reps. I'd call them. Also, watch the classifieds here.

Third gen shooters supply has one in stock as well. Even listed at the old prices....

Yeah I wanted a black one too but I settled for Tan. Then I dropped a few more dollars and sent it to Schmidt and Bender got the turrets changed out for black now it just looks like a custom one made just for me. =) Scope.jpg

That thing looks good! Never thought of changing out just the turrets, using black rings would break it up even more. Great job!

Yeah I have the QD American Rifle Co rings on it and it looks pretty on my black rifle. I kind of took it a step further though by wrapping the tan with some black coban but that's mainly to protect it from scratches and dings.

I just received one from Sport Optic last week and have not yet mounted it, but love the 3-20X MSR I got from them about 6 weeks ago. I had to wait for the 5-25X for about a month, but they did not require a deposit and I got a great price when I mentioned SnipersHide. EuroOptic, Mile High and other Hide vendors all great to deal with. Just keep searching until you find one. For the price you spend, wait for the black. The tan is also more expensive, but if you can't wait, black Coban wrap from Amazon works well and protects the scope finish.

Used ones show up here on the Hide from time to time, but rarely see the MSR reticle, since I think it's a more recent addition. Also remember, only 2 year warranty, but have not heard any complaints and hear that S&B USA takes great care of US customers. Good luck and Happy Birthday!

You really have to learn to be patient at times in this sport!

Worth going for the ral8000 models if they are in stock at the old pricing ,

If you order a black one at the new price it will cost more i reckon.

Ordered mine from eurooptic, i went for CW though

I got taken care of fellas. Everywhere I talked to at first was out and didn't forsee any in for at least 2 months. Euro optics, Sportsoptic, and mile high were all great and willing to do whatever they could to try and get one faster.

I ended up going with Third Generation Shooting supply. Never used them before but they actually had 3 in stock and the price was unbeatable. Package has already shipped and will be here Tuesday.

Now, if we could just get this damn snow to melt here in MI maybe i'll get to shoot before July.
