I'd really like to have another factory AR to keep long term, and I've got a few that I've built. Maybe just an upper? I want an LMT or something as good as though. I just haven't seen lefty versions, and I'm not going to buy anymore RH guns. Anyone know what specifically I should look at? Is POF even in that same category? Is DD what I should look at? Just looking for some input from you guys...

    TIA

Well I'm lefty, so mostly serious. I'd rather (and do for that matter) run a quality BCM upper with some ambi parts on it than a stag thats for sure.

Well I'm not going to run a stag but it's the ejection port that's the issue. I have "reg" AR but a left handed one is just way more comfortable to shoot. I've almost converted everything I have over. It's just a lot better without the shells flying past your face and more debris than needed going into your face.

I appreciate it. RR(which isn't a bad one, I've had one before and it was pretty solid) but not quite what I'm after. I may have to stick with what I've built from uppers, which is ok. They run great.

Can't find any photos of the LWRC. It might be discontinued.

Depending on your goals, both CLE and WOA build lefty uppers

I have thought many times about mirroring the upper and BCG on it. Maybe one of these days I will get a chance to do it. I have a MPX and MCX. Especially when we are running around on the ranch in a truck or RZR it is handy.

My youngest son is Left eye dominant, Right-handed, so I’m already planning for this.

For those that think ambi parts fixes everything, think about ejection port gases and debris when shooting suppressed.

Looking for .22 LR solutions too.

I'm lefty, and yes, shooting suppressed sucks, especially high volume shooting courses.

Here’s a left handed AR that’s in the PX

Gee, I've been shooting AR15's, AR10's, AK's, FAL's, M1 Garands, HK94's and pump shotguns left handed for 25 years and never seen the need for a semi-auto that ejects to the left. But then, I don't really shoot suppressed, so maybe that would change my viewpoint. Still I'd rather shoot a RH gun and have my pick of mfg.'s and models, rather than shoot a dedicated LH gun and have to choose between 2-3 different models.

And to the poster that has a cross-dominant son, I'm the same way. I'm actually right-handed and left eye dominant. The person who taught me how to shoot diagnosed this before I ever shouldered a rifle and I have spent my life shooting left handed, so, based on personal experience that's the way to go.

And for those SIG fans, if you can still find a place selling Sig 516 uppers for $599 (for a while they were $499), it's the best value going right now. Not the latest and greatest, but hard to beat at the price.

So far, all of my younger kids first centerfire rifle experiences have been suppressed.

My oldest daughter shot 6.5 Grendel for her first centerfire, and my little guy shot 5.56 10” suppressed.

My oldest son’s first rounds were through an MP40, then 6 months of shooting his Rk62 every week.

If you notice, a lot of guys who shot suppressed in their careers in units with a lot of high volume/suppressed, now have lung cancer. Non-smokers. One of the SURG requirements was mitigating the back pressure from cans for this reason and others.

For a lefty with their face right there near the ejection port, I think it’s definitely worth setting up a LH AR for suppressed use.

Otherwise, the brass deflector does a great job.

That has been my intent with the lefty AR, I shoot suppressed the majority of the time.

I made a little deflector out of kydex that helps.
