Looking for advice on getting an FFL

I’m looking into getting an FFL (most likely Type 1). Any advice on navigating the process is greatly appreciated.

Start with your local zoning board, if they don't approve, no reason to move forward.

Realize that getting an FFL involves a business, so treat it that way. It is not a hobby.

Have a legitimate business plan - if you are just doing it to have firearms delivered to your door and to get a few discounts from Brownells it is not worth the hassle and may not be approved.

Set aside a separate space and gunsafe for the business only.
