Hi everyone. I've been looking for an RND for a decent while, and heard great things about Lloyd's business. After sending some emails his way, I gave him a call a couple days ago to no avail. I haven't heard anything about RND closing, but to hedge by bets I'm looking for a preowned RND 2000 or 2100. I'm located in CA, so I can send a kydex grip if out of state. Looking forward to seeing what you all have (or don't have, we'll see :))!

I have not been able to find a website for him anymore. I bought one years ago. There were so many issues with it that by the time I got it running good I was tired of it already. I have not shot mine in years. Probably only about 50 rounds through it. One of the most poorly designed things I've ever come across. Firing pin is held in with a set screw. You have to remove the gas key to get the bolt out. The bolt only has two gas rings on it in a space made for three which are 308 type gas rings. I tried putting a third one in there but it was too much tension and would not cycle. The most I've ever got before it starts short stroking is about 20 rounds. You have to use an Allen wrench and remove a screw to remove the upper from the lower assembly.

Hi LStansel,
I've not had any luck just yet. I did find a website for him a while back, but I didn't get any response from one or two of the emails listed on said site - so I think he's out of the industry for good. Judging by your experience, I think that's for the best. I had heard only good things about his rifles, but from your description, it seems there may have been some cut corners in design (like the gas key). What caliber is yours in?

I have the RND 2000 338 Lapua Magnum. I've got it running good now. It'll start short stroking before 20 rnds if you don't give it some lube. I thought about putting a JP gas ring in it to see if that will help. It uses 308 rings. It's a good toy but it is definitely not anything the military would have ever been interested in.
